With his MMed degree in Internal Medicine and Physician certification with the South African Colleges of Medicine certificate (FCP) SA, Dr Griesel pursued the particular interest he developed during this training, Rheumatology. Finally, after working as a registrar in Internal Medicine at the Universitas Academic Hospital in Bloemfontein for the last 4 years, Dr Griesel has opened his private practice at the Life St. Georges Hospital in central Port Elizabeth.

While he is currently completing his certification with the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR), he aspires to do a fellowship in Rheumatology as well as a course in musculoskeletal ultrasound techniques in the near future. With this expertise, Dr André Griesel plans to improve diagnostics in the field of Rheumatology with ultrasound technology.
